How to Create a Quick Referral

This tutorial guides you through creating a quick referral in Lutra Health, enabling you to efficiently refer a patient.

1. Introduction

Before starting, ensure you have access to the patient's record and any necessary documents for attachment.

2. Search for or register your patient

A referral has to be made from a patient record. If the patient has already been added on Lutra, then you can search for them. If not, then you can register them.

3. Start New Episode

Click the Start Episode button to begin a new clinical episode.

4. Click "New Referral"

Select 'New Referral' as the measure type.

5. Select the referral condition

Select the required referral condition from the drop down list.

6. Select the recipient organisation

Select which organisation the referral needs to be submitted to.

7. Select "Quick" as referral type

If the selected recipient organisation supports a quick referral, then the 'Quick' option will be available to select. Where this remains disabled, it means the recipient organisation does not accept quick referrals.

8. Select eye

Select which eye the referral relates to.

9. Select priority

Select the priority level for the referral from the list of available drop down options.

10. Start Referral Process

Click Start to begin the referral process.

11. Complete the form questions

Complete the form questions.

12. Upload and tag any files

Any files with assessment details and images, where relevant, should be uploaded and tagged.

13. Add any additional assessment notes

Optionally, add any additional assessment notes in the text box. If required, there is also a field where you can add if you are referring to a specific clinician.

14. Click "Next Step"

Proceed to the next step.

15. Review and then click "Submit Referral"

A summary page allows you to review the referral prior to submission. If changes are required, you can go back to the previous step to make these. When you click on 'Submit Referral' this completes the process and the referral is sent to the recipient organisation.
