How to Complete a Cataract Post-Op Assessment
This guide will walk you through the steps to complete a cataract post-operative assessment efficiently using Lutra Health.
1. Search for the patient
Start by searching for the relevant patient. It is expected that the patient will already be registered, so you can search using their name or unique identifier.

2. Open the patient record
From the search results, open the relevant patient record

3. Open the Cataract Post-op measure
Within the patient record there will be a Cataract episode and one of the measures will be for a 'Cataract Post-op'. Click on this to open.

4. Start assessment
Summary information - such as when the record was created and surgery date - will be shown for reference. Click on 'Complete Assessment' to start the process to submit post-operative data.

5. Provide vision assessment details
Start by selecting the measurement method and then populating vision assessment results. A red asterisk indicates the mandatory fields.

6. Option to add any additional notes
You can optionally add any further comments or notes about the vision assessment, before proceeding to the next step.

7. Add any post-operative complications
Select which post operative complications are present with the patient. If there are not any, then select 'None'. This list is aligned with the NOD reporting requirements. Then proceed to the next step.

8. Examination date
Today's date will be added as the default examination date, but if you completed the examination on a different day, then you have the option available to specify the relevant date.

9. Option to upload files
The option is available to upload any relevant images or files. You can upload up to a maximum of 10 files, each of a maximum file size of 10 MB, or 50MB for DICOM files.

10. Add the file tags
For any file uploaded, you will be prompted to tag which eye it relates to and what type of file it is. Where relevant you can also add an additional note.

11. Upload the file
Click 'Upload File' to add the file to the assessment. Once uploaded you will be able to see a file preview. This process can be repeated if there are multiple files.

12. Add any additional assessment notes
An optional free text field is available where any additional notes can be provided.

13. Review and submit
Prior to submitting the assessment, you have an opportunity to review the information provided and make amendments, if required. Once details are finalised, click submit and this completes the process to provide the cataract post-operative assessment.
